The Battle Of The Tablets
Every year, different companies release a newer batch of smart phones, with each gaining the capabilities of its predecessor while having newer and more advanced capabilities than the previous iteration. This rule applies to both HTC and Apple, who both have released their newest batch of smart phones: for HTC, the HTC Evo View 4G Tablet (successor of HTC Flyer), and for Apple, the new Apple iPad 2 (successor of the iPad).
As mentioned earlier, both have gained and improved on the capabilities of its predecessors, as well as gained new applications and capabilities for themselves. Now, let us put the two new smart phones to the test, and see which among the HTC Evo View 4G Tablet and the Apple iPad 2 is better in terms of performance and design.
Let us take a look at their design: a quick look will let you instantly know that iPad 2 is much larger than the Evo View 4G. You will also notice that the iPad 2 is slimmer compared to the Evo View 4G, as the iPad 2 has a width of 8.8mm, while Evo View 4G has a width of 13.2mm. With those data, we are now sure that the iPad 2 is lighter than the Evo View 4G. While this is a minor difference, there are lots of people who prefer their smart phones to be slimmer and lighter. They would also want the screen to be larger so that they will be able to read the content easily. So the clear winner in the design category is the iPad 2.
Now let us take a look at their display capabilities: the iPad 2 has a screen resolution of 1024×768, while the Evo View 4G has a screen resolution of 1024×600. It is another minor difference, but the Evo View 4G triumphs over the iPad 2 in here. What is the reason, you ask? Pixel density is important, and Evo View 4G has a 170 pixel per inch pixel density, while the iPad 2’s pixel density is lower, having 132 pixels per inch only. So if you want to watch high quality HD videos in your smart phone, then you might want to go for the HTC smart phone. Also, your video viewing experience can be further enhanced by opting for HTC Evo View 4G accessories, like the HTC Evo View 4G screen protector and the HTC Evo View 4G case. It can also be done on the iPad 2 as well, but using Apple-licensed products instead.
Briefly discussing their software and hardware capabilities: the iPad 2 is powered by Apple’s patented operating system, the iOS, while the HTC Evo View is powered by Apple’s rival, the Android OS plus the Sense user interface. Operating systems have little to no difference between each other, and it really is up to the user’s preference. In terms of processing speed, the Apple iPad 2 is superior, having a dual-core 1GHz processor compared to the HTC’s single-core 1GHz processor. However, the HTC smart phone gains a bit of an advantage as it has a 1GB RAM internal memory, which effectively doubles Apple’s current RAM capacity of 512MB RAM. Both smart phones have 1GB internal memory capacity, and both can be used with a microSD memory card in order to boost its memory capacity. Up to 32GB microSD memory cards can be used in both smart phones. Both also have 4G Internet connectivity capabilities as well.
So after comparing the two smart phones, we have a tie so it is really up to the consumers to choose the right phone for themselves. Always remember, and choose your phone wisely so you won’t regret it later.
